A school in Northern Michigan had several copiers that were an average of nine years old. The machines had a low page per minute printing speed, limited capabilities, were expensive to maintain and produced a lot of waste. The machines’ locations and limited capabilities made copying and printing a time consuming challenge for faculty, staff and students.
After a site survey and workflow analysis, Dunn’s Business Solutions recommended 8 new machines with all the latest scan, print, copy, finishing and software features and a full service maintenance agreement (FSMA). The school was able to make these upgrades for the same price they were paying for their service alone with their old equipment and service contract.
The new, centrally-located machines with expanded capabilities and 80 page per minute printing speed have made the faculty and staff more productive. The school is now saving approximately 60 labor hours per month.
The school no longer has to outsource projects such as printing booklets. The new machines are capable of many printing jobs that had to be outsourced in the past, thus saving even more money.
Faculty, staff and students can print directly from their Gmail accounts to the new machines. And students can print in-class projects directly from their Chrome Books. These capabilities make printing quicker and more convenient.
Paper waste has basically been eliminated with the updated technology and functionality of the new machines. This is not only good for the environment, it cuts costs too.
The FSMA also includes all scheduled and un-scheduled service calls, (by certified technicians), all travel charges, phone support, and all parts and labor. This means that the school’s IT department does not have to be involved in document production – another money saver.
The FSMA includes all black and color toner at 100% supply yield. Additionally, printing of color documents is tracked, ensuring that print jobs are sent to the most cost-effective machine.
